Gin Gift Box: Bottles

With a desire to create a range of complex, sophisticated, and most importantly delicious non-alcoholic drinks, Abstinence have taken inspiration from the Cape Fynbos Floral Kingdom. This is a biodiverse region in the Western Cape of South Africa. Whilst it might be the smallest biological kingdom, its one of the most diverse in the world.

For their Spice edition, Abstinence have drawn on the rich cultural diversity and culinary history of Cape Town. Here there are numerous dishes which use the indigenous African flora, combined with the Dutch, Indian and Portuguese spice history which make for truly unique culinary delights.

The result is a delicious, non-alcoholic beverage which is full of the love for spice! Abstinence have created a complex blend of allspice, cassia bark and clove. This they lift with the unique Cape Fynbos flora (such as Honey bush) along with cardamom and a touch of citrus from Orange Peel.

On nose there are floral notes which are joined by sweet spices. In the mouth there is a delicious hit of spice in the back of the mouth. When combined with tonic, the flavours shine a little more with a delicious (yet delicate) sweet spiciness and a touch of woody notes

With a desire to create a range of complex, sophisticated, and most importantly delicious non-alcoholic drinks, Abstinence have taken inspiration from the Cape Fynbos Floral Kingdom. For their Aperitif, Abstinence wanted to create the perfect drink for enjoying on its own, in a spritz, or for creating perfect low alcohol cocktails.  The flavours come entirely from the botanical ingredients, and contain no added sugar, sweeteners or flavourings. Everything is natural, and from the Cape.

The key botanicals in this drink are African Wormwood, Cinchona Bark, All Spice, Clove, Blood Orange and Spice Distillate. This ensures a flavour which is reminiscent of Italian-style bitters, and has a dominant citrus note from the blood orange. This blends with the natural botanicals and spices, along with the African Wormwood, which gives a distinct mouth-watering, bittersweet mouthfeel.
